►WOOD MATERIAL: Each heart shape is uniquely hand-crafted and custom designed from locally sourced and weathered-down trees found around the metropolitan Phoenix areas. Acquiring these logs allows me to create 100% sustainable art, repurposed live edge wood designs. Handmade in North Peoria, Arizona.
►FRACTAL ART: A process of applying 20,000 volts of electricity on the surface of the wood with conductive solution and recreating a lightning strike in slow motion as well as unique abstract figures, tree and vein like shapes. The fractal art on the heart represents the beautiful life and memories of Mike that he shared with family and friends.
►EPOXY INLAY: Self-leveling high gloss U.V. Resistanct epoxy is used with Light Blue Metallic pigment is added to seal the burns created during fractal art process on the surface of the wood. Any voids or cracks from the wood are sealed with epoxy to maintain the integrity of the wood.
►OIL FINISH: Hand rubbed finish using Old Masters gel polyurethane clear satin gel oil and John Boos mystery oil. It brings out the natural beauty of wooden surfaces; durable coating for use on wood surfaces and contains ultraviolet absorbers for advanced sun protection.
